Mitarbeiterqualifizierung für digitalisierte Arbeit: Eine empirische Studie in metallverarbeitenden KMU in Nordrhein-Westfalen

Die untersuchten kleinen und mittleren Unternehmen (KMU) interessieren sich in unterschiedlichem Maße für Industrie 4.0. Die Mitarbeiter_innen sehen Investitionen in zukunftsfähige Digitalisierungskomponenten meist positiv. Schulungen der Anlagen- und Werkzeughersteller spielen in der Qualifizierung eine zentrale Rolle; sie vermitteln neben herstellerspezifischem auch allgemeines Wissen. Ein erfolgversprechender Weg zur Gestaltung von Arbeit und Qualifizierung scheint die Einbeziehung von Mitarbeiter_innen und technischen Expert_innen zu sein

Digitalisierung und ihr Einfluss auf Arbeit und Qualifizierung in kleinen metallbearbeitenden Unternehmen Nordrhein-Westfalens

Ziel der Studie war die exemplarische Erforschung des Einflusses der Digitalisierung in kleinen metallbearbeitenden Betrieben in NRW auf Arbeit und Qualifizierung. Betriebsangehörige wurden befragt, einzelne im Rahmen einer Projektethnografie interviewt. Nach den Methoden werden die Fälle beschrieben und Handlungsempfehlungen abgeleitet. In den beforschten KMUs war Qualitätssteigerung Ziel der Digitalisierung, nicht Vollautomatisierung. Neben individueller Qualifizierung erforderte dies organisationales Lernen.The aim of the study was to exemplarily investigate the influence of digitization in small metalworking companies in NRW on work and qualifications. Employees were questioned, some of them interviewed within the framework of project ethnography. First, the methods are described, then the cases and, finally, the derived recommendations for action. In the researched SMEs quality improvement (not full automation) is the goal. Digitization requires both individual qualifications and organizational learning

Digitalisation in small German metal-working companies

To explore today ́s relationship of digitalisation to work and qualification, small metal-working companies were studied by project ethnography and via a survey. The cases show that digitalisation is expected to promote product quality, flexibility, systematic use of labour, and equipment utilisation. Digitalization in the North Rhine-Westfalian SMEs today hardly follows the full-automation vision of “industry 4.0”. In spite of the adaptability of digital technology, it is difficult for SMEs to tailor it according to their particular demands.
